Below we present the record of meetings the Managers held during 1884.  There is just a single recorded meeting in 1884. Finance, especially after the building project to extend the school, was very much on the Managers’ minds.

A meeting of managers was held at the school on Saturday September 13th (1884) at 3 p.m.
Present            The Vicar
                       Messrs Deane and Edwin Ewer

 

1.   The Reports of Government and Diocesan Inspectors were read.

2.      It was proposed by Mr Deane and seconded by Mr Ewer that the following Parishioners be elected managers of the school.
           Messrs George Lee, Alfred Clarke, Henry Tose, James Ewer and William James Murch

3.      It was considered advisable to try and increase the number of voluntary subscribers to the school.

4.      The Vicar reported the completion of the enlargement of the west class room at a cost of about £100, this cost was met by the withdrawal of £60 from the Reserve Fund in Bloomsbury Saving’s Bank and £40 out of current expenses for year ending May 31st 1884

5.      The Vicar also reported the temporary engagement of Elizabeth H. Taylor to continue as Pupil Teacher her time as Pupil Teacher having expired.
