1990 ~ Whitby - 1

Friday 11th May and an excited group of Fourth Year Juniors (Year 6)
gathered ready for a residential trip to Whitby, Yorkshire.
Mrs Hardman called the register to check everyone was present ...

... and then it was outside for a group photograph

There was a stop at Bretton Country Park, north west of Barnsley,
a chance to stretch the legs - and an early lunch.

The journey to Whitby meant passing York, this historic city could not be
ignored, so an overnight stay
had been planned.

First to be explored - Clifford's Tower.
Mrs Hardman explained its significance, and then it was stormed!

Then off to explore the old, historic streets - the pavement artists fascinated.
the afternoon included a visit to the Jorvik, retelling the city's Viking past.
